Work smarter, not harder with native CRM automations and integrations in Streak

We’ve long touted the benefits of automating your CRM.

From saving time on repetitive tasks to having more accurate data and providing a better customer experience, automations increase productivity, scalability, and success in most workflows.

The problem is, you often need a third party tool to integrate apps and set up automations. In addition to learning how to use another tool, that also usually adds a line to your balance sheet.

That’s why we built integrations and automations directly into Streak.

Streak’s native integrations allow you to automate your CRM and task creation based on events that happen in Streak or in apps like Calendly and Typeform – all without leaving your Gmail inbox.

What are native integrations and automations?

A native integration or automation means that you can set it up directly in the tool you’re already using, rather than relying on a third party tool like Zapier to connect applications.

Integrations allow you to connect and share data between two platforms, like two software applications.

An automation completes a certain action when a trigger action occurs – all within Streak.

Integrations and automations go hand in hand; you can use new data entry in one tool to trigger an action in another tool. For example, when a lead fills out a form in Typeform, you can have that data passed to Streak to create a new box for them and add their form responses to the box.

A native Typeform integration that creates a box in your streak pipeline and adds a contact to the box when a typeform is submitted.

Native integrations and automations available in Streak

People often rely on multiple tools to piece together a workflow using one tool to capture leads, another to book calls, and yet another to track and close deals. Now with Streak, a tool to connect your tools doesn’t have to be one of them.

We’re introducing native Calendly and Typeform integrations into Streak, as well as a number of triggers and actions within Streak to automate your workflow. We’re starting with these integrations and trigger actions based on feedback and requests from our users, and we’ll continue adding native integrations with commonly-used apps.

Keep in mind, we also support integrations with over 9,000 different applications via Zapier. You’ll find automation templates for commonly-used native automations and integrations (and for Zapier-enabled integrations) in your CRM, which you can explore below.

Want to create your own CRM automation from scratch? You can do that, too.

Typeform integration

Typeform allows you to collect data from leads, conduct user surveys, and more with beautiful and highly-customizable forms.

Use our Typeform integration to capture form entries, add them directly to your CRM, and trigger actions like creating a set of tasks when a new form is completed.

Calendly integration

Calendly is a booking tool used for scheduling calls, meetings, and events.

Our Calendly integration allows you to automate a flow when an event is scheduled. For example, when a demo call is booked, Streak automatically creates a new lead with a contact and adds them to a mail merge to continue nurturing the relationship.

CRM automations in Streak

You can now automate some of the most repetitive tasks in Streak without using a third party automation tool.

Automations range from simple pipeline updates to more complex series of steps that give you better information in your CRM and free up your time for conversations and strategic work.

Streak triggers available:

  • Box stage changed: when a box moves into a new stage of your pipeline.
  • Box created: when a new box is added to your pipeline.

Streak actions available:

  • Create a box: Create or update a box within a specific Streak pipeline
  • Add contact to box: Add a contact to a box or create a new one
  • Add comment to box: Create a comment in the box every time the trigger occurs
  • Add task to box: Create a task in the box
  • Add recipient to mail merge: Add the contact to a mail merge

We’ll be continuing to add integrations and automations to Streak, so let us know what you’d like to see next! You can leave feedback or requests for native integrations at the top of the Integrations & automation sidebar when you’re creating an automation.

How to set up integrations and automate your CRM in Gmail

Integrating with other apps and setting up automations takes just minutes. Once you begin automating your workflows, you’ll be able to manage and update automations for each pipeline as needed, right inside Streak.

To create a CRM automation in Streak:

1. Choose your workflow

Go to the pipeline where you manage the workflow you want to automate. For example, this could be your sales, hiring, or fundraising pipeline.

2. Open the integrations and automation panel

Click the three dots at the top right of your pipeline and select Integrations & Automation.

3. Choose an automation template or create your own

Pick a type of automation to find pre-made templates for the most common use cases, or choose your own triggers and actions to create an automation from scratch

Templates with the Zapier logo on them require Zapier to complete the integration.

4. Choose a trigger action

Each automation starts with a trigger action that is either completed in Streak or in an integrated app, like Typeform or Calendly.  Choose the appropriate template based on the app you want to integrate with.

If you’re creating an automation from scratch, click “Add trigger” and choose a trigger step.

5. Set your action step

If you’re using an automation template, you’ll have pre-populated action steps based on the most commonly-used automation flows.

If you want to further automate your workflow (we say go for it!), you can continue to add action steps like creating tasks, adding a contact to a mail merge, and more.

Click “Add step” in the bottom right corner of the panel to add additional steps to your flow.

6. Create and manage your automations

Click create to set it live!

Once you’ve created your first automation, you’ll see a tab in the Integrations & Automation tab for your existing automations. Open a flow to rename it, edit trigger and action steps, and see recent activity for the flow.

What are the benefits of native integrations and automations?

It’s hard to break habits, even if they include repetitively entering information or manually updating your pipelines. But it’s worth overcoming inertia – from your budget to your workflow, native integrations and automations have a host of benefits.

Consolidate tools and eliminate expenses

The most immediate benefit of using native integrations and automations is cost reduction.

Third party integration tools often use a subscription model, so consolidating tools with native integrations and automations eliminates a monthly expense from your balance sheet.

Act swiftly on engaged leads

Automations can help you take action on new and engaged leads when the moment is right.

Did a lead just book a demo call? Automatically add them to your CRM and create a task reminding you to review their use case before the demo.

Got a new form submission? Create a contact and give them a call while you’re top of mind.

By automating these processes, you’re more likely to interact with leads when they’re most engaged and avoid dropping the ball when a lead comes in outside of business hours or when your team is on vacation.

Familiar UI in Gmail

Streak is built directly into Gmail so your CRM becomes an extension of your inbox experience.

Our native automations and integrations allow you to set up and manage automations with a familiar UI, meaning you don’t have to learn a new tool to get started.

Eliminate manual data entry

Nobody likes manual data entry – it’s mundane at best and inaccurate at worst.

Automations eliminate manual data entry, so you and your team can focus on more skillful tasks like building relationships. You’ll also have increased data accuracy by removing typos and other mistakes.

Scale your business and processes

Automations and integrations help you keep up with growing demand and increased leads by scaling the amount of work you’re able to manage in your pipelines.
